Primary Purpose:
Manage data and records of Grimes County Special Education Shared Services Cooperative for children
with disabilities. Provide clerical support for Special Education Cooperative department. General office
duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
* High school diploma
* Proficient clerical skills; Clerical/Office experience
* Ability to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, word processing; Knowledge of
Microsoft Office Programs, Word, Excel
* Proficient in keyboarding and file maintenance
* Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions
* Ability to meet established timelines

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist Program staff with clerical tasks (i.e. photocopy, print, fax, assemble information packets)
2. Perform routine checks and comparisons of reports or records for compliance with specific
program requirements
3. Prepares and completes mailing process of student records or correspondence
4. Assists with organizing of records, maintaining of Special Education student folders, and other
permanent records assigned and while protecting confidentiality of student records and
information
5. Prepare and process record requests from other schools and colleges for student records
6. Schedules meetings with parents and districts
7. Answer telephones and respond to inquiries
8. Assist students/parents with general information
9. Use esped - Student Information System to add, edit and monitor Special Education students
10. Compile Compliance Reports - Cumulative data source to add, edit and monitor all Special
Education students (all schools & sites)
11. Audit and Review (Internal Monitoring)
12. May involve travel to multiple resource centers
13. Support program staff
14. Participate in department and program trainings and meetings
15. Communicates effectively and timely with all staff 16. Facilitates successful monitoring and completion of compliance checklists of IEPs as meetings
occur
17. Operates SEIS related duties
18. Strictly adheres to timelines
19. Perform other tasks as assigned
20. Adhere to attendance policies
21. Ensure district compliance with state, federal, and local laws and policies regarding
22. Facilitate student referrals to agencies and organizations as required

Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), interpret policies and procedures, reason, read,
understand verbal instructions, coordinate, compile, and maintain emotional control under stress. May
work with frequent interruptions.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight, sit, stand, walk, reach, repetitive hand motions. Standard
office equipment. Prolonged sitting, occasional bending/stooping.
